Bitumen
Bitumen is a product extracted from the distillation of crude oil during its refining. This material is known for its adhesive, water-resistant, thermoplastic, durable and recyclable properties, making it ideal for uses in construction and civil engineering.
Bitex Refinery produces distilled bitumen for road paving, obtained through the ‘straight run’ process from asphaltenic and naphthenic crude oil. This process is supported by our professional laboratories and a system certified according to EN ISO 9001, to guarantee maximum quality.
Types of Bitumen
Types of bitumen produced by Bitex Refinery comply with EU standards EN 12591, including grades:
- 50/70: Suitable for milder climates and common construction uses.
- 40/60: Suitable for more specific projects and areas with greater temperature variations.
